«Baltic phosphate» Project, complex of phosphoric acid production

About company

«Baltic Phosphate OU»

has started a comprehensive innovative project in the north-eastern region of Estonia for the complex phosphoric acid production with a phased transition to the use of raw materials (phosphates) for local mining and the creation of its own warehouse infrastructure for cargo transshipment in the industrial park of Aseri, which will achieve maximum profit and capitalization with access to Europe stock markets. The construction of an industrial complex is envisaged in the territory adjacent to the industrial park of Aseri.

The project provides

Maximum use of the existing industrial buildings, structures, engineering and transport infrastructure in Aseri industrial park. The project provides the use of lump sulfur, purchased by import

Aseri industrial park is located

on the north coast of Estonia
87 km from the Estonian border
15 km to Vaivara station of the Sonda
120 km to the Tallinn

Infrastructure

Port, only 2km to highway and railways onsite - perfect infrastructure allows transportation in different directions

Our Project Structure

Manufactury construction of the sulfuric acid production with 12 MW power unit
An electrical substation construction - 4 MW
Creation of own warehouse infrastructure for cargo handling in Aseri industrial park
Implementation measures of phosphogypsum storage or processing. Provision is made for the product storage associated with phosphoric acid production - phosphogypsum, with the further creation of processing capacities
Manufactury construction of the stripped extractive phosphoric acid (EPA) production. Production capacity: on the evaporated 85% EPA - 150 000 tons per year

Technological solutions

On sulfuric acid plants, liquid, lump or granulated sulfur can be used.

For the production of sulfuric acid is supposed to use the sulfuric acid system of dual contact with double absorption (DKDA) and heat recovery absorption.

The main raw materials for the production of EPA are phosphate concentrate and sulfuric acid, which will come from the workshop for the production of sulfuric acid.

For the production of EPA project provides for the use of dihydrate (DH) method. The process allows to obtain an EPA with P2O5 content, with level 24% - 28%, it is characterized by a high technological yield of P2O5 in EPA and is implemented at relatively low temperatures: 75-85°C.

Concentration of EPA occurs on single-body vacuum evaporation plants.

The basic DG-process technological scheme of EPA production with vacuum cooling of the pulp

The common advantages of the DH method are:

the practical absence of quality restrictions of the used phosphate raw materials
high working time funds of technological systems and separate equipment
relatively low working environments temperatures
easily adjustable start and stop
relatively low emission of fluorine gases at the stages of extraction-filtration
lack of inlaid blockages of phosphogypsum removal lines during the use of the hydrotransport method
the possibility of varying productivity, staged increase in the level of production
advantage if the concentration of EPA is not required for processing into final products

The project main technical and economic indicators

Estimated production capacity at the rate of 330 working days per year:

300 000

tons per year / 93% sulfuric acid

150 000

tons per year / 85% EPA
